Question by Joe B: can any training facility legally train a service dog? i am looking for legal documents to support the answer.
i am looking to find out if any training facility can legally train my dog to be a service dog. i have been trying to read through some of the ADA’s documents on the training of service dogs but have not found anything that specificially states that service dogs can be trained by any facility. i was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and if they could point me to the correct documents to help me solve my issue. Thanks!

Any facility can train a service dog, if they have a certified trainer for that type of training. It really depends on the trainer’s credentials, and not the facility itself.

Looking for an answer to crate training my dog?
Question by ahren: Looking for an answer to crate training my dog?
Over the last 6 months we have been crate training our dog. The crate is the perfect size for him. Just over the last month, he has started barking almost the entire night. He has also recently started to pee a little in the back of the crate. He did fine for so long, but now it seems like a total regression. It is so hard to be happy with a dog that barks all night and pees himself. Please, does anybody have a solution?
The dog is in the other room of the house. The reason being is that allergies have arisen from other members of the household. We do take his water away 2 hours before bed and do puit him out before we go to bed. I let him out at night to pee when he first barks….but as soon as he’s back in, he starts barking again. He’s not in the crate all day, only at night. I really think it’ more of an attention thing.

Yea. Let him live outside of the box. How would you like being in jail when you did not do anything wrong.
Crate training always sounded cruel to me. Sounds like the dog agrees.

Looking at Dog Nutrition For Your Pet
Making the most of looking after a dog is a responsibility that most dog owners take on with the best of intentions, so here are a few pointers for good dog nutrition: A healthy feeding programme should have been started at the puppy stage of his life to help his muscles and joints grow strong and healthy and you need to continue this.
Treats that are given to a puppy for training purposes should be small and counted as part of his pet diet. Once your puppy has achieved the level of training that you are happy with then treats should only be given on occasion during the week. Manufacturers of pet food have to consider dog nutrition. In line with the government’s guidelines they place relevant information about ingredients on their tins and packets of dog food so read carefully.
Dog nutrition can be helped along with a few treats in the form of fruit and vegetables that have been cooked in unsalted water and then mashed to aid digestion. Dried dog food can be a great help through the week as this type of pet food has been dehydrated, which means there is no loss of nutrients. Water should always be available for your pet while you are at work or at home.
A pet diet should be varied and a puppy or an adult dog will thrive on balanced meals of proteins, minerals and essential carbohydrates with daily exercise. Too much feeding from the table at mealtimes and large portions of dog food coupled with a few treats will make your pet overweight. To prevent this or reduce his weight you need to cut out the treats and feed him balanced meals with the correct portion size according to his breed. At Hills Pet Weight Management we have balanced pet food for dogs with essential guidelines on portion control.
